Middle School Expectations
As middle school teachers we hold our students to high academic and behavioral expectations. You can find the link to our Middle School Expectations here.
Benchmark Year & Promotion Criteria
Sixth Grade is a benchmark year. That means students must meet district criteria (found here) in order to pass to Seventh Grade. It is imperative that your student takes this important year very seriously.
Any student who does not meet the district criteria will need to attend summer school. Summer School is usually held at a different school and is mandatory if the student does not meet the promotion criteria. Failure to attend summer school results in automatically repeating the 6th grade.
It is our goal as the 6th grade team to work with the families to ensure all students pass to 7th grade without attending summer school.
