Kindergarten

I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year! I am Katie Brown and I am looking forward to having your child as a student in Kindergarten this year. This is my fourth year teaching and my first year joining the Bateman Family. I could not be more excited to be part of such a wonderful school community. I attended Indiana University where I received my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with a Minor in Spanish. I attended National Louis University for my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with Specializations in English as a Second Language and Learning Behavior Specialist. Teaching is my absolute passion! Outside of teaching I enjoy reading, yoga, and playing the flute. 

Kindergarten is such an exciting and important year filled with many learning opportunities to celebrate. In order to have a successful year, my most important goal is to create a family of learners in my classroom. I am committed to creating a classroom environment where your child is a valued, trusted, and integral part of our family of learners. Your child will be in a safe, caring, and structured environment that will allow them to foster a love for learning. I am looking forward to partnering with you and your family for a wonderful year!
