Juanita MartinezWorld LanguageEducation :
I attended Jenner School , Truman College, and National Louis University where I earned my Teaching degree as well as my ESL and Bilingual Certificate. I have been teaching within CPS for more than 15 years. I truly enjoy teaching Spanish. Most of the students I now see were my students in first , fourth and fifth grades. It is such a pleasure to see how they have matured. Currently in Spanish, we will be focusing on familiarizing students with the differing ways people celebrate Las Navidades, identifying various foods, traditions and Arts and Crafts in Latin American countries . We will dive into different ways that Spanish say and celebrate new years. Students will be picking a Latin country to do research on current events that took place recently and will keep it current . They will be drawing satirical figures of the people involve in the events. They will be comparing and contrasting using Venn Diagrams. Students will also be adding and building on spanish words. About Me : Before I became a teacher I was a professional seamstress , a car painter and a welder. I am a Widow 2 times. I have two awesome sons , thirteen beautiful and intelligent multicultural grandchildren and have been blessed to see and enjoy my three great grandchildren. I enjoy driving across the United States, just me and my dog, Baby. So far, I have been to 27 states. My favorite season is Summer and Fall. I love reading a good book and cooking (I could get very creative). |
