Alexis Alberto Lewis3rd GradeWelcome to 2022-2023 school year! My name is Ms. Alberto-Lewis and this year will be my 8th year teaching 3rd grade at Bateman! Prior to Bateman, I have experience teaching at catholic schools and a Montessori school where I coached students in practicing daily routines and promoted cognitive development and motor skills. I am a graduate of Northeastern Illinois University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in English as a Second Language (ESL).
I grew up in the Philippines and moved to Bartonville, Illinois when I was 9 years old. I moved to Chicago in 2004 where I attended CPS. In my spare time, my husband and I enjoy trying new restaurants, hosting dinners, spending time with friends and family, watching football, and taking our dog Layla hiking and to the beach. I am a committed and goal-oriented educator who is a positive role model that encourages diligence, academic curiosity, and ambition in children. My experience with diverse learners has influenced my teaching and taught me the importance of cultural appreciation, differentiated learning styles and the value of developing critical thinking skills. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year! |
