Bateman Elementary is a proud neighborhood school. All students living within the Bateman Attendance Area can enroll at any time during the school year. We encourage new families and kindergarten families to register during Registration Week. More information below.
For all required documents, please visit the CPS Registration Checklist. For kindergarten families living outside of the neighborhood boundaries, please visit the CPS Office of Access and Enrollment for application and acceptance details. Students who live outside of Bateman's boundaries must apply through go.cps.edu. For pre-school registration, the application process is coordinated through CPS at the Chicago Early Learning website. Do you have a child ready for Kindergarten next school year? Are you new to the Bateman Community? Please help us prepare for next year by attending our Kindergarten and New Family Registration Week. Families living within the neighborhood boundaries of Bateman Elementary should register new students for the school year during the annual Registration Week!

For the 2020-2021 School Year, neighborhood families can begin to register online beginning Thursday, May 14, 2020! Please fill out the form beginning on Thursday, May 14th to notify us of your intent to enroll your child at Bateman for Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 academic year. In order to enroll your child in Kindergarten at Bateman, you must reside in our attendance boundaries (please check here: https://schoolinfo.cps.edu/schoollocator/index.html) and your son or daughter must turn 5 years old on or before September 1st, 2020. All families who reside outside of Bateman boundaries must apply through go.cps.edu.
During the time of the school closure, the form will serve as a placeholder for Bateman office staff and administration to begin planning for next school year. Parents/Guardians will need to fill out the official registration packet once Chicago Public School buildings are open and back to regular hours. Thank you for your patience and flexibility during this time.

If your student will be new to Bateman Elementary, we will need the following documents in order to register your student:
Proof of age
Two (2) forms of current proof of address; and
Health requirements All student must have a physical examination within one year of:

- Child’s birth certificate (original)
Two (2) forms of current proof of address; and
- Current utility bills (light, gas, water)
- Deed
- MediPlan/Medicaid card
- Voter registration card
- Court documents
- Illinois Department of Public Aid card
- Stamped United States Post Office change of address form
- Illinois state aid check/social security check
Health requirements All student must have a physical examination within one year of:
- Entering schools in the State of Illinois for the first time, at any grade level
- Entering Kindergarten or 1st grade, 6th grade, and 9th grade
- Entering pre-school, up the age 6
All documents must be presented in person in the North Office.
