What ages are accepted?

Children must be at least age 3 by September 1st and must be toilet trained to attend.  Chicago Public Schools recognizes 4 year old placement as priority in full day preschool programs.

What is the class size?
Each preschool class has a maximum enrollment of 20 students.

What are the class hours?
Full day program options are regular school hours from 8:00 am - 2:50 pm.  For the half-day program, the morning session runs from 8:00 - 10:35 a.m.  and the afternoon session runs from 12:20 – 2:50 p.m.


What is the curriculum?
All Bateman pre-school classrooms instruct using Creative Curriculum and measure progress through Teaching Strategies Gold, in alignment with the Early Childhood Education initiative in CPS.  All pre-schoolers participate in daily fine and gross motor activities, read alouds, math and literacy centers, small group instruction, imaginative play, collaborative learning and more!

How many teachers are there?
There is a 10:1 ratio expectation for all early childhood preschool classrooms allowing one teacher and one teacher's assistant. Our blended classrooms have an additional teacher.
