Welcome to Middle School 6th Grade Science, where we ROCK!
This year we will be investigating Earth Science through the inquiry of plate tectonics, weather, atmosphere and space. Our goal in science this year is to know and apply a variety of concepts, principles, and processes of scientific inquiry! We will start the year off with an in depth study of the scientific process. Using our curiosities about the amazing world we live in, we will engage in different studies and investigations.
I am excited to say that I have been teaching in Chicag Public Schools for thirteen years! Not only do I love teaching science but I love doing science in everyday life! Science is simply asking questions about the world around us. I believe that every person has a scientist inside of them wondering about the way things work.
When I'm not at school, you can find me playing with my son Jack, taking my dog Brunch to the dog park, reading a new book, weight lifting, and cheering on the Michigan State Spartans or the Chicago Blackhawks. Above all else, spending time with my family and friends is my favorite thing to do any day of the week.
As a lifelong learner myself, I am a proud graduate of Michigan State University, National Louis University, Loyola University and the University of Chicago. Hopefully we can share some successful learning strategies with each other this year!
I am looking forward to our science journey over the course of the school year. I believe in every student. I care for every student. I know every student will succeed!
We will learn as long as we can follow the Blaze Ways:
