Hello, I've been teaching in the Chicago Public Schools for 15 years. Prior to that, I was an English teacher in Tokyo, Japan. While in Tokyo, I developed a love of travel and do so whenever I can. Chicago is my hometown and I enjoy rooting for our hometown sports teams, especially the Cubs and the Blackhawks.
This year, science class will focus on Earth Science. Topics will include topography, erosion, deposition, plate tectonics, and space. Students will explore these topics in the text and with hands on science labs throughout the school year.
In social studies, we will start at the beginning of mankind and study history from around the globe. Our focus will be on ancient civilizations. Also, we will take occasional breaks from studying ancient history to focus on current topics and important events that will shape our future.
