Room 226 Hello! Thank you for visiting my page! I grew up in West Rogers Park and attended Chicago Public Schools PreK-High School! I have attended Stockton, Daniel Boone, Taft Academic Center, and Lincoln Park High School. I have always been interested in the arts, taking ballet, art, and music classes throughout my educational years. Now, I enjoy taking various art classes to continue spending time exploring the creative world. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2012 and received a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education with a Special Education Approval. In 2014, I received my English as a Second Language Endorsement. I began my teaching journey in 2013 at Emiliano Zapata Academy as an Early Childhood Education Special Education Teacher for my first 4 years in grades PreK-1. I absolutely cherish these first years that have solidified my calling of teaching the little ones. I continued my teaching journey closer to home from 2018, joining Bateman Elementary. I am thrilled to be part of this community that advocates for inclusion classrooms PreK-8th grade. Outside of school and in my free time, I enjoy traveling with my husband and friends, eating savory and sweet foods, board games, puzzles, and arts and craft projects. |
Co-Teaching &
|
For the 2020-2021 school year, I will be the co-teacher for all of Kindergarten. I will mainly be working as an inclusion teacher and co-teacher for rooms 108 (Ms. Vazquez) and 109 (Mrs. Daye). If you are in room 107 (Mrs. Williamson) or 110 (Ms. Rivas), and have questions for me, please send me an email (mchoi1@cps.edu). I am here to support all Kindergarten students, teachers, and families. I am excited to work with our kindergarten students to prepare them to be life long learners and successful in their communities. As Bateman moves towards a fully inclusive school many more students will be seeing two teachers in their classroom! What an exciting year! Please don't hesitate to email me with any questions or concerns at mchoi1@cps.edu.
