In 4th grade we will:
  • Explore characters and themes in the novel Front Desk by Kelly Yang
  • Develop skills for reading informational text a unit about immigration and migration 
  • Study text structures and author's purpose as we read biographies of scientists and learn about their discoveries
  • Work together in historical fiction book clubs
  • Cap off the year reading & comparing a variety of myths

​Este año, en 4.º grado:
  • Exploraremos los personajes y temas de la novela "Entrada" de Kelly Yang.
  • Desarrollaremos habilidades para leer textos informativos en una unidad sobre inmigración y migración.
  • Estudiaremos las estructuras del texto y el propósito del autor al leer biografías de científicos y aprender sobre sus descubrimientos.
  • Trabajaremos juntos en clubes de lectura de ficción histórica.
  • Cerramos el año leyendo una variedad de  leyendas y mitos.

¡Hola! Estoy emocionada para ser maestra de lectura en 4to grado. También soy líder del equipo Dual para la escuela.

He sido maestra desde 2013 y empecé trabajar en Bateman en 2018. 
 

Hi! I am excited to be the 4th grade reading teacher. I am also the Dual Language Lead Teacher for the school. 

I have been a teacher since 2013 and I began teaching at Bateman in 2018. 

 Tengo una licenciatura de Harvard y una Maestría en Pedagogia de a la Universidad de Chicago. Empecé de aprender español cuando mi familia mudó desde los Estados Unidos a España para vivir por un año.

I hold a bachelor's degree from Harvard and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Chicago. I began learning Spanish when I was in first grade and my family moved to Spain for a year.
