Bateman Music Website
Welcome! My name is Samantha Soto and I teach PreK-3 Music at Bateman. Working with the students in the area of performing arts allows me to see the students learn through play and movement. In music we sing, dance, play instruments, and create!

I grew up just outside of Minneapolis, went to school in a small town, and did my student teaching in Chicago. I realized I loved living in the city so decided to stay! I graduated from a small school in Iowa, Northwestern College, where I had the opportunity to get degrees in both Elementary Education and Music Education with a minor in Theatre. While there, I focused on percussion performance and had a chance to travel all around the country playing with the band.  I have also been playing piano since I was in 2nd grade. I love being able to offer a variety of after school programs to continue the students music education and offer music to the older students as well.

When I am not at school, I enjoy relaxing with a cup of coffee, playing piano, playing board games with friends, and exploring the many different restaurants Chicago has to offer.
