Nancy SolaymanThird Grade ESL/INCLUSIONWelcome!! Ms. Nancy Solayman is very excited to be a part of the Bateman School community. She has been given the wonderful opportunity to teach third grade this school year! In her years of teaching she has had a wide variety of training and experiences. She has taught third, fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade. She graduated with high honors from North Eastern Illinois University with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Geography and Environmental Science. As a trained International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) teacher, her knowledge of the IB PYP is expansive. Her teaching philosophy is that children learn through experience, when their minds are engaged, their curiosity and creativity are stimulated, and their environment is both challenging and rewarding. She possess a firm belief in engendering students to become lifelong learners and productive citizens by providing a quality education and instructional environment. She is dedicated to working with students, parents, and fellow staff to enhance the learning experience at Bateman. Attending Teacher Leader Summits has empowered her to implement new approaches in teaching reading, math, science, history, and writing. Aside from teaching, her passions include: reading, music, movies, exercising, traveling with her husband, and spending time with family. “That exhilarating feeling that some people get when jumping from an airplane, or scuba diving deep into the ocean, or running a marathon, is the feeling that I get when I teach a classroom full of elementary students.” I am excited and looking forward to a wonderful year. |
