Sonia Suqi8th Grade InclusionHi Bateman Families! I am so happy to be part of the Bateman community. This school year I will be working as the 8th grade ELA and Math inclusion teacher. My career as a teacher started in 2014 when I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education and later received my Master’s degree in Special Education from NEIU. Since then I have taught at other Chicago schools, and landed at Bateman about 5 years ago. In my first few years at Bateman I took on the role of Case Manager and for the last 2 years I have been the 8th grade ELA and Math Special Education teacher.
I was born and raised on the north side of Chicago and attended CPS schools growing up. My love for teaching started at a young age because of the amazing teachers I met along the way. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my 2 boys Tristan and Isaiah, drinking iced coffee, traveling, reading, and looking for the best places to eat around town! I can’t wait to get to know each and everyone of you! |
