I am so excited to start out my sixth year here at Bateman Elementary. My name is Ms. Vazquez and I will be your child’s kindergarten teacher this year. I look forward to working with you to ensure your child’s academic success.
I was born and raised in Chicago where I attended DePaul University and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. I also attended Grand Canyon University. At Grand Canyon University I received a Masters in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages.
Prior to Bateman, I taught at Pilsen Academy. In Pilsen Academy I taught first grade bilingual for five years. I was also the bilingual coordinator for two years.
Teaching has always been a passion for me. I have a love for learning and I hope that my students also learn to love learning as much as I do. By making our classroom a safe, fun and structured place for my students, I hope that they will enjoy coming to our classroom and learn something new everyday. I feel that all children are different and require specific attention and affection for them to flourish. I will strive to be that for each of my students; an educator who loves each child that walks in her door and gives each of them not only an education, but also instills a passion for learning.
This year will definitely be a fun year, but as in every school year, things can and will come up. I believe that a successful year starts with an open communication line between parents and teachers. Please feel free to email (email@example.com) me anytime you have any concerns. I am available to meet with you any day before 8:15 and after 3:30. Also, with any emails sent, please allow me 24 hours to respond. Kindergarten is a busy year and I will not have much time to look through emails until the end of the day.
Please remember that my door is always open and we will work together throughout the year to ensure a successful year for your child. Let the fun-filled learning begin!
