Adrienne TamboneVisual Arts Hi there! My name is Adrienne Tambone and I love teaching at Bateman Elementary School. This will be my eighth year as the 4th through 8th grade visual arts teacher at Bateman. I have a graduate degree from Columbia College Chicago's Master of Art Education program and a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Before moving to Chicago, I spent three years in South Korea teaching ESL and Visual Arts at an international school and before that, I lived in Lausanne, Switzerland.
I grew up in a suburb outside of Boston, Massachusetts with my parents and younger brother. When I was not studying or doing homework, I played three instruments and five sports, including throwing the javelin. My interest in visual art did not peak until I went to middle school, where my art teacher had us do some amazing art projects, including creating stained glass compositions. The middle school visual arts curriculum at Bateman focuses on the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design and how these apply to all aspects of art production. It is important that students are exposed to different art techniques, media, methods and tools that allow them to create a multitude of work. Each quarter, students will create a large-scale art project focusing on either drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed-media or graphic design. When I'm not teaching, I love staying active with tennis, skiing, and traveling; My goal is to travel to at least one new country a year. My passions in art include drawing, graphic design and printmaking. For more information about our Art Education Program at Bateman, please visit our Fine Arts Page and the Bateman Art Blog. |
