Art Club Permission Slips

Ms. Tambone will be offering ART CLUB to K-8th grade students of Bateman this year. Art Club is an opportunity for students to make decorations and posters for various school activities, as well as create a wide-array of more challenging artwork to take home. If this is something you are interested in, please fill out the permission slip and give it to Ms. Tambone (room 322) before October 2, 2015.

Group Exercise: 30 Minute Collages

To start off our Identity Collage Unit, students were asked to create a composition using materials provided by me. Each group was given the same set of materials: newspaper, cardboard, paint chips, a cd, and a magazine. Along with glue, tape and scissors, students had 30 minutes to create a masterpiece with their group. What that masterpiece would look like was up to them. At the end of the 30 minutes, groups shared their artwork to the class.

Why is Art Important?

During the first week, all students (4th-8th Grade) were asked: "Why is Art Important?" Students wrote their answer on a post-it note and shared out their ideas with the class.
