April 20, 2020 Bateman Broadcast Buenos dias, Bateman students, parents and staff!  Today is Monday, April 20, 2020. Dear Bateman Families and Friends,   On Friday, Governor Pritzker announced that schools will continue to stay closed and Remote Learning will be the method of education for remainder of the year.  Although we understand the weight of this decision, we are heartbroken that our students will not be together again in our classrooms and hallways this year.  We share your mixed emotions but also recognize that this is the safest measure to ensure the health of our community.  It is in our hands now to find creative ways to stay tied together, just as the Santana family was as they attended the annual Father Daughter dance on Friday! We are especially saddened for our 8th graders. We know this is not the 8th Grade year you had imagined, as many of you have been waiting in anticipation for the last nine years.  We are celebrating you, alongside all of our students, and want to assure you that there are exciting things to come! We know there are many questions as a result of this announcement and ask for your patience as we receive information. As we continue in this journey together, you have our commitment to remain responsive in the ways our teachers engage your children, informative in a timely manner, and connected as much as possible.
