Buenos dias, Bateman students, parents and staff!
Today is Monday, May 4, 2020.
Dear Bateman Families and Friends,
Happy Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week! We are grateful for our amazing staff each and every day. They are going above and beyond right now to make sure all of our students feel supported in their continued learning. Please join us in celebrating each and every staff member that makes Bateman such a special home away from home for our community! As we shared on Friday, please see how you can help now!
1. Tuesday Treat!
If you would like to contribute to the Tuesday Treat celebration, please click here! All of our parent organizations will be sending a Tuesday Treat to each staff member. Let’s fill them with love!
2. FlipGrid Friday!
Is there a special message you’d like to send to your child’s teacher? Is there a staff member who made your day? Let them know! Record your (short!) message in any language by Wednesday, May 6th so we can share the video with our staff on Friday! FlipGrid: https://flipgrid.com/batemanstaffrocks Password: bebateman2020
On Thursday evening, Chicago Public Schools announced the grading policy for the remainder of Remote Learning. We know this has been a question of students, parents and teachers alike! As we digest this policy and adapt to the change, please educate yourself by reading the CPS Grading Policy Guidance for Parents.
Our teachers are constantly adapting not only grading, but also instruction. You may notice that more of our teachers are moving to small group instruction as we move into the month of May. Teachers use this as one of our powerful practices during the school year and are able to differentiate to meet the academic and social & emotional needs of individual students. This is just one of the incredible ways our teachers are ensuring that student growth continues and we are forever appreciative of their incredible efforts!
Finally, please join us on Friday, May 8th for a May LSC Meeting at 11am. More details to come.
Please see below for the many ways to celebrate your child's teacher and staff this week. Let's show them all an abundance of love!
