Meet Bateman Elementary's May Teacher of the Month

Please join us in congratulating Elizabeth Carrick as Bateman Elementary’s May, 2016 Teacher of the Month.  Please read below for her bio:

Ms. Carrick has taught preschool and kindergarten in both ESL and Spanish instruction classrooms. She previously worked with refugee resettlement and early childhood family services. She has a Master's in Bilingual/ESL Early Childhood Education from Erikson Institute in Chicago and completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from DePaul University in Chicago.

Currently, Ms. Carrick teaches kindergarten and is a member of the Bateman Wellness Committee and Science Committee.  She is chair of the Bateman Garden Club in partnership with the YMCA. She enjoys bike riding, yoga, cooking, and soap making. She loves to read and her favorite children's authors are Roald Dahl, Ezra Jack Keats, and Vera B. Williams.

Ms. Carrick is truly an exceptional teacher!  Congratulations!
