Jan. 14, 2020 Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s), I am excited to share that we have been awarded the CCF Pawns to Queens grant for advanced lessons from International Master Arjun Vishnuvardhan. He will be providing lessons for intermediate and advanced players, but these lessons are also open to players who are motivated to improve their chess playing. Every Friday for the next 10 weeks of school-day Fridays, IM Arjun will be doing his special lessons from 3:35-4:35pm. Students will get a snack from the cafeteria after school. After the lessons, students will be dismissed from Door 1 at 4:40pm. Please fill out the form below to indicate whether your child can participate in this excellent opportunity. Tournament 10:00a.m. - 3:15p.m. -Late arrivals will not be paired in the first round. Trophy Presentation 4:00p.m. (estimated) 5 Sections: Novice K-1 (Pawns), Novice 2-3 (Knights), Novice 4-5 (Bishops), Novice 6-8 (Rooks), Intermediate, Advanced Unrated, no entry fee; Swiss-style, 5 rounds (est.), USCF standard tie-breaks Awards: Individual trophies to the top 7 in all sections. Team trophies to the top two teams in all novice sections; top team in Intermediate and Advanced. Team score calculated by top four scores in novice sections, top three scores in advanced.
