Meet Bateman Elementary's April Teacher of the Month

Please join us in congratulating Leticia Rosales as Bateman Elementary’s April, 2016 Teacher of the Month. We asked Ms. Rosales to share her bio with us. Please read below:

My Name is Leticia Rosales and I am currently a NBCT, Bilingual Lead Pre-School Teacher at Bateman Elementary School and member of the Bilingual Leadership Team. Because I love working with my students and families, I have been a Preschool Teacher for 20 years and in the Early Childhood Education Field for 25 years. I have worked in private daycare centers, Non-for-Profit Early Childhood Centers, and am currently employed with Chicago Public Schools.

Being a lifelong learner and believing that education is a key to success, it was important for me to attain my Type 04 Teaching Certificate from National Louis University where I also minored in Psychology. I became a 1994 Golden Apple Scholar with Golden Apple Foundation, received my bilingual endorsement/approval from the Erikson Institute, and achieved a National Board Certified Teaching Certificate with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Organization.

When I am not working with my students or attending a workshop, I am spending time with my husband and three boys which are 6, 8, and 10 years old. I enjoy going to the movies, taking nature walks in the forest preserves or by the lake, shopping, dining in restaurants, visiting zoos, and museums. My favorite part of my free time is sitting down and enjoying my cup of coffee!
