We are proud to announce Ms. Natalie Vigilante and Ms. Samantha Schouweiler as the March, 2015 Teachers of the month. Ms. Vigilante was born and raised in Chicago and has a lot of Chicago pride! She stepped away from Chicago for a few years for college earning a Bachelor of Arts at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She also holds a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from DePaul University. Ms. Vigilante has been teaching for nine years, eight of those years are at Bateman! Currently, she is a 5th grade teacher for the Comprehensive Gifted Program where she teaches all content areas. In addition, she is the teacher liaison for the Student Council group and a member of the PPLC. In her free time, she enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, and traveling. She tries to live her life by the motto "Be kind whenever possible, it's always possible!" We congratulate Ms. Vigilante on this special honor and appreciate all that she does for her students and our Bateman Community! Thank you, Ms. Vigilante! Ms. Schouweiler joined Bateman’s staff this year as the music teacher. She earned her music degree and teaching degree at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa and has been teaching in the Chicago Public Schools for 3 years. During the school day she teaches music to students in Pre-K through 4th grade. She also offers many after school programs including Boomwhacker Ensemble, Trumpet Ensemble, Flute/Clarinet Ensemble, Group Piano Class, and Chorus. Ms. Schouweiler also organized the highly successful Holiday Assembly in the winter for the Bateman community. We are so pleased to have Ms. Schouweiler at Bateman.
