I am thrilled to be recognized as November's teacher of the month! I love working at Bateman because I truly feel our community lives by our core values. This is my second year at Bateman and I feel so lucky to work with amazing colleagues and students every day. I was born in Illinois but grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. I moved back to Illinois to pursue a college education and graduated from Loyola University with certifications in general education, special education, and ESL. Now I live in Albany Park, so I get to walk to school and see some of my students along the way. This year I've had the opportunity to work alongside my amazing co-teachers to support 4th and 5-graders in math. I never thought I would grow up to be a math teacher because it was really hard for me in school, but now I love teaching it! When I'm not teaching, I like to travel and spend time with my friends and family. I also am a debate instructor in the summer, which is something I've been doing since I was in high school.
