Sick Student Reminders

1/27/2023

Dear Bateman Families and Friends,

The flu bug has hit us!  There has been a drastic increase in the amount of children becoming ill throughout the school day.  We have seen many cases of strep , flu, stomach viruses, and lengthy coughs. As a reminder, please keep your child home from school if they have a fever. If your child complains of a headache, sore throat, or stomachache, please take the time to assess the situation prior to sending them to school.

Our guidelines are as follows:

  • Your child should stay home if their fever is 100 or greater.
  • Please don't administer an antipyretic such as Tylenol or Motrin to your sick child and then send your child to school.
  • If your child vomits the morning of school or the night before, please keep them home. Do not assume it's "something they ate".
  • Seek medical care outside of the school environment.
If your child comes down to the nurses office with any of the above symptoms, we will first ask them to put their head down, drink water or eat something, or try to use the washroom. If they are still not feeling well, we will be calling to have an emergency contact pick up the child. We appreciate your prompt response as we have had several ill children in the building this week.

As a friendly reminder, if a child is sent home from school, they must stay home the following day until they have cleared a full 24 hours fever-free or without any symptoms.

Thank you to all of our Bateman families who have been respectful of our students and staff by keeping their sick children home.

Have a wonderful week!

All the best,
Ms. Davos & Ms. Kloepper

Bateman Buzz | 2022-2023; VOL 9
BATEMAN WEBSITE   |  TRADUCIR ESTA PAGINA  |   TEACHER WEBSITES   |  CONTACT US

Dear Bateman Families and Friends,

Happy 2023! We are excited for all that the new year brings to our community: continuing to re-build traditions, celebrating the ongoing accomplishments of our students, and setting new goals!

Today, we had the great privilege of recognizing all of our Quarter 2 Core Values Champions! Please help us congratulate our students who have continuously chosen to Be Inclusive!

Just as students are setting new academic goals based on their growth thus far, we encourage all families to set a goal to arrive on time for school. Instruction begins at 8:15am each day. School doors are open for all to enter at 8:05am to ensure students have time to transition into their classroom seamlessly. The beginning of the day is critical for all students to check in with their friends and teacher, as well as to set the tone for their learning. We hope to see all students in the building next week by 8:15am!

Again, a very Happy 2023 to all! We know this year will be filled with even more momentous celebrations and memories together in our wonderful community!

Warm regards,

Ms. Davos & Ms. Kloepper

ACCESS Testing
Window Now Open

Each year, students in English learner programs take the ACCESS for ELLs language proficiency test. The test measures academic English language proficiency for students learning English in our school and throughout our state.

Teachers in our school use this information to help them make decisions about instruction for your child. Teachers also use these test scores to monitor the progress your child makes toward English proficiency.

If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Argueta.
