The inaugural Chicago Architecture Biennial will be North America’s largest international survey of contemporary architecture. The exhibitions, symposiums, publications and other programs that educate the public and address the major urban concerns of our time will illustrate the Biennial’s concept of “The State of the Art of Architecture.” The Chicago Architecture Foundation, the Official Education Partner for the Biennial, is working with the Chicago Architecture Biennial and the City of Chicago to provide opportunities for teachers and students that spark the interests of the next generation of architects and designers. BP Student Design Competition Chicago Public School students aged 13 or older are eligible to enter the BP Design Competition. The BP Design Competition challenges participants to think outside the box and imagine a pocket park that will improve access to public open space for a Chicago area neighborhood. Awards will be given to the top 10 designs and first prize includes $500 and dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel downtown for the winner’s family. The competition jury includes representatives from the Chicago Park District, Chicago Public Schools, The Chicago Architecture Biennial and BP. Students can compete individually or in teams. Visitarchitecture.org/bpcompetition for more information or to register to enter.
