View this email in your browser May 2018 Message from the Principal Dear Bateman Families and Friends, We were thrilled to see all of our students running around in the sunshine today!  It gives us excitement that Spring has finally arrived. Please be sure to stay connected as we have a very busy end of the year! Bateman Core Values We want all of our students at Bateman to lead a virtuous life!  Please help us choose what words we will instill in each of our children.  We want your voice to be heard in this decision so please let us know by taking the Bateman Core Values Survey! Boostin' for Bateman Spring Fling May is here, which means our annual Spring Fling and Silent Auction fundraiser is right around the corner and we need your support! Come Eat, Drink, and Be Bateman on May 10th at Michelle's Ballroom. Please join the Bateman Boosters and our school community to celebrate our students and raise money for our wonderful school.  This is your big opportunity to support everything it means to #BeBateman! Tickets are available for purchase online via https://eatdrinkandbebateman.bpt.me. All donations directly benefit each and every one of our students. PreK Registration is Now Open! Please help us spread the word that PreK Registration opened April 30th!  Anyone interested in PreK, please register at chicagoearlylearning.org. The online application consists of 3-simple steps:  1. Create an online account for your family 2. Fill in basic information on your family including employment and income 3. Trip May 31 Final Box Top Collection What's the Buzz? This week at Bateman Choose Kind Challenge All Month! All year, we have been encouraging all of our students to #ChooseKind! Every morning, students will hear an extra challenge to show their kindness in different ways and students are recognized during afternoon announcements.  We received so much positive feedback that we would like to see it go through the end of the year but we need YOUR help!  If you have a daily challenge you would like to see our students complete to #choosekind, please let us know by filling out this form! Yubbler Goes Live! Tuesday, May 1st Online We are excited to offer you a new program that will help the school and make it a breeze for parents to get school supplies for next year. Bateman Classrooms Bateman is so fortunate to have such hard working and dedicated staff members who work tirelessly for the benefit of each of our students.  Please help us celebrate our wonderful Teachers and Staff all week!  You can do this by participating in our 'Chalk the Walk' outside the main entrance starting Monday, May 7 where you can write messages for your teachers on the sidewalk!            Kindergarten Registration Tuesday, May 8th & Wednesday, May 9th at 3:30 pm North Foyer Do you have an incoming Kindergartener at Bateman for the 2018-2019 school year?  Please help us spread the word that families can stop by anytime between 3:30pm - 5:30pm in the North Foyer.  If you are unsure of what to bring to register your child, please see the CPS Registration Checklist.
