On Saturday, February 6, the Bateman Chess Team played in the Greater Chicago Championships at McCormick Place. After about seven hours of competition, the K-6 Junior Varsity earned first place, while the K-3 Junior Varsity and K-6 Varsity squads both placed second in their sections. Seven Bateman players won individual prizes, including Andrey Novikov who got a perfect score in the K-3 section, and Zubair Ahmed who also went 5-0 in the K-6 JV section.
It was a wonderful day for the team with tons of support from all of the parents.
Great job, Bateman chess players!
