I am so excited to be Bateman's February Teacher of the Month! This is my second year on the 8th grade team at Bateman. Being a part of the Bateman community is an honor because the school is grounded in such strong core values. I grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago. I am a total home body and cannot spend time away from my family, so I attended Loyola University Chicago for my undergraduate career. Here, I double majored in Secondary Education and English with an endorsement in ESL. During my last year at Loyola I had the pleasure of student teaching at Bateman, and I knew then that this was a community I wanted to join. The last two years I have had the honor of being the 8th grade ELA teacher. I love teaching literacy because I think it serves as such an integral part in our lives. The best feeling in the world is seeing a student truly fall in love with a book! Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with my family. If I am not with them, I am either reading a book, eating, or spending time with my friends. I am looking forward to a wonderful second half of the school year! Comments are closed.
