Today we held our Learning Garden Kickoff! This Learning Garden will be enjoyed by the whole school community--especially K-1st and 7-8th grades. A long-term school wide project to engage our students in growing real food, we hope that this garden becomes an established part of teaching and school culture at Bateman.
Healthy eating and hands-on outdoor learning can have huge impacts on a child’s health and well-being throughout their lives. The Kitchen Community will be working with our Garden Team to grow a beautiful and productive garden as well as to provide teaching materials, gardening materials and training, and to highlight opportunities to learn. The Learning Garden Team will be reaching out to the whole school community with opportunities to participate. Families who would like to get involved and know more, may join us at a Bateman Community Garden Meeting on Tuesday, November 14th at 3:30 in room 118. Email questions to nevasills@gmail.com and visit thekitchencommunity.org to learn more about Learning Gardens. Comments are closed.
